Winning the battle against pediatric cancer takes a team approach — a team with the strength of many disciplines working together to provide advanced pediatric cancer treatment along with supportive care for the whole family.

Norton Children’s Cancer Institute provides hope and unparalleled cancer care to children and families in Kentucky, Southern Indiana and beyond. We provide families in the region with the latest advancements in pediatric cancer care and programs.

“It is easy to smile when life rolls along like a sweet song, but worthy are these children who are able to keep their smile and be joyful when things in their life have gone so wrong.”

We Treat All Forms of Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders

Whether your child experiences a rare tumor or a blood disorder, if they need a bone marrow transplant or surgery, we provide care that treats the whole child with a focus on limiting any long-term effects. Our approach to cancer care considers the effect of treatment on the entire body, not just the cancer, and is mindful of potential complications as childhood cancer survivors grow into adulthood.

Your child and family will receive care from a proven care team of leading specialists, including oncologists, surgeons, nurses, social workers, chaplains, behaviorists, therapists and pharmacists.

Collaboration With UofL School of Medicine for Your Child’s Care

Norton Children’s Hospital serves as the primary pediatric teaching facility for the University of Louisville School of Medicine. These doctors are professors and active researchers helping to advance medical care through clinical research and education.

Leading-edge Care Through Worldwide Partnerships

At Norton Children’s Cancer Institute, your child has access to the same cutting-edge treatments and clinical trials used at other leading pediatric cancer centers.

We are a long-standing member of the Children’s Oncology Group, the world’s largest network of hospitals devoted to treating children with cancer. This means we follow the same best practices, proven protocols and treatment regimens as other top pediatric cancer centers.

We also are part of the Beat Childhood Cancer research consortium, which connects your family to a worldwide network of clinical trials across more than 40 leading universities and children’s hospitals.

Through our partnership with Norton Children’s Research Institute, affiliated with the UofL School of Medicine, our team brings breakthrough therapies to our community, allowing your child to get leading-edge care, including promising new treatments, while staying close to the people who love them most.
