Norton Children’s eCare

Access Virtual Urgent Care Now

Louisville-based Norton Children’s eCare medical providers can care for minor illnesses and injuries in children ages 2 and older through video visits and eVisits available 24/7 every day of the year.

You can access care for your child anytime from your smartphone or computer through your free Norton MyChart account as long as you are in Kentucky or Indiana during the visit. If you don’t have an account, it only takes a few minutes to set up a Norton MyChart account.

Norton Children’s eCare is a great option for getting care for the minor ailments. Access care anytime without having to travel to a provider’s office.

Virtual urgent care visits are billable through Medicaid, Medicare and most major insurance plans. You’ll get the great care you know and expect from a local Norton Healthcare or Norton Children’s provider.

During your video visit, if the provider determines you need a prescription, they will send a prescription request to the pharmacy of your choice. A consultation is not a guarantee of a prescription.

Norton Children’s eCare is not for complex, emergency or urgent situations. If your child’s condition is serious, call your health care provider or 911, or go to the nearest emergency department.

Accessing Your Child’s Norton MyChart Account

We recommend establishing access to your child’s Norton MyChart account before you need it. This is called “proxy access.”

If you already have your own Norton MyChart account, here’s how to request proxy access for your child:

  • Log in to your Norton MyChart account using a computer or mobile device.
  • Once logged in, choose the “Menu” icon at the top left of the home page. Select “Personalize” from the drop-down menu (under Settings).
  • Select “Request access to a minor’s record” Under “Who’s records can I see?”.
  • Fill in the details on the form, and select “Submit Request.” The Norton Children’s information management department will use your information to approve your request. This step is necessary for the safety of you and your child’s health information.
  • You will receive a notification once proxy access has been set up. When you are logged in to your account, you can toggle between patients in the upper right-hand dropdown menu to log in to your child’s account.
  • Children ages 2 and older in Kentucky or Indiana can see a local Norton Children’s eCare provider face to face through a secure, online video connection.
  • Prescriptions are sent directly to your pharmacy of choice.
  • If tests are required, your provider can refer you to a drive-thru testing location or any Norton Healthcare or Norton Children’s facility with laboratory capabilities. No appointment is necessary once your provider orders the tests.
  • Video visits are covered by Medicaid, Medicare and most major insurance plans, and copays are similar to an office visit. Self-pay options also are available.

Norton Children’s eCare eVisits are a great option for children ages 5 and older located in Kentucky and who have been a patient at Norton Healthcare or Norton Children’s within the past three years. Norton Children’s eVisits are simple and do not require a video call. They are available for symptoms of ringworm, swimmer’s ear and head lice. A Norton Children’s eCare nurse practitioner will review your child’s symptoms and then call you to discuss and prescribe treatment. Other treatments are available for adults through Norton eCare eVisits.

We accept most insurance plans for eVisits, and your copay may vary.
