Make these school lunches ahead of time

If you’re looking for some ways to brighten up your child’s lunch box, we have some easy things you can do. They might even get your child eating more fruits and vegetables. Making these lunches the night before the school week starts means less rushing in the mornings and less work during the week! 


PB&Y

  • Whole wheat club crackers with peanut butter
  • Low-fat strawberry yogurt with a fresh strawberry
  • Fresh broccoli, red and yellow pepper strips and a drizzle of low fat Italian dressing
Applewich
  • Apple slices with peanut butter (brush some pineapple juice on the outside of the slices to keep from browning)
  • Fresh grapes
  • Mini carrots or carrot sticks with a drizzle of low fat Italian dressing

  • Wheat thins with turkey pepperoni and cheese (cut cheese with cookie cutter)
  • Grape tomatoes

  • 7-layer dip: low fat refried beans, low fat sour cream, guacamole, Mexican blend cheese and diced tomato
