Specialty care for patients experiencing a variety of pregnancy-related health conditions is now available in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, from Norton Children’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine. The practice’s new office is located at 1301 Ring Road.
“With our ability to provide diagnoses of issues that can affect a pregnancy and an unborn baby, we can make a significant difference for both the mother and child,” said W. Vance Cuthrell, M.D., maternal-fetal medicine, Norton Children’s Maternal-Fetal Medicine. “Should it be necessary, we can also work closely with a patient’s obstetrician to monitor the pregnancy and have critical information that allows for the best decisions about care.”
A team of specialists can provide care for a variety of conditions, including high-risk pregnancy due to a patient’s age; pre-existing health concerns such as diabetes, kidney disease or high blood pressure; multiple gestations, such as twins, triplets or more; screenings for genetic issues or birth defects; heart defects; and preeclampsia. They also offer testing including amniocentesis and fetal transfusion.
Specialists also can collaborate with other specialists at Norton Children’s to provide additional care if necessary.
