Rodney Lambert purchased a Norton Children’s Hospital Home & BMW Raffle ticket in his wife’s name last year. Before he had a chance to tell her about the ticket, she won the first early prize drawing — gas for a year from Thorntons.
“Well, it’s a funny thing,” Rodney said. “My wife had just come out of the hospital … and was sitting out on the deck for the first time when they called.”
Rodney’s wife, Kathleen Lambert, initially told the caller she hadn’t bought a ticket. That’s when Rodney told her the good news.
The $1,200 gas card has been very helpful for them over the last year, according to Rodney. The Lamberts live in Louisville and have shared it with others who needed a needed a little help with gas to run errands such as grocery shopping or doctor’s appointments.
“God was good to us by bringing my wife back home, and we share what we have,” Rodney said.
Kathleen is now doing great, Rodney said, and they plan to continue to purchase Home & BMW Raffle tickets as long as they’re able.
“We feel like everything we give always come back for us,” he said. “Give and it’ll come back to you a hundredfold. You just have to share what you’ve got.”
