Jesse & M.J. with 106.9 Morning Play have teamed up with Chili’s® Clip for Kids. The duo will emcee the event on May 21 at Fourth Street Live!, and both are raising funds to benefit Norton Children’s Hospital.

“I have a long history with Norton Children’s Hospital; it holds a special place in my heart,” said Jesse Rasmussen, radio personality on 106.9 Morning Play. “And now as a father, it makes me feel better to know a place like Norton Children’s Hospital is available for my child.”

Rasmussen has put out a challenge to his loyal listeners and friends. He has formed a team to participate in Chili’s Clip for Kids. If his team raises $5,000, he has agreed to shave his head.

“I like my hair; it’s a part of my identity both on air and off air.” Rasmussen said. “But it’s time to show my solidarity with the kids fighting cancer. I’m excited to be raising money and awareness for the patients.”

“As parents, we’re awed by the strength of these kids,” M.J. said. “As a team, we are proud to join such a fun event and help such a great cause.”

The Addison Jo Blair Cancer Care Center at Norton Children’s Hospital had 600 pediatric cancer admissions last year. And for kids fighting cancer, losing their hair is just one part of their journey. Chili’s Clip for Kids challenges you to raise funds in return for clipping, trimming or shaving your hair in a show of support with kids fighting cancer in our community. One hundred percent of the funds raised stay right here in our community.

Are you ready for the challenge? To get started you can register as an individual or form a team. Visit ClipForKids.org to get started. Once you’re registered, share your goal with others and encourage them to donate or join your team.

Then plan to join us for the big event on Sunday, May 21 at 2 p.m. Fourth Street Live! is transformed into the Chili’s Clip for Kids headquarters with eight licensed stylists clipping, trimming and shaving hair. At the same time enjoy live music, a Chili’s fun zone with arts and crafts, face painting and a photo booth.

“M.J. and I are so excited to emcee the event this year,” Rasmussen said. “I personally invite everyone to join us. We’ll have fun, support children fighting cancer and raise money for a great cause.”
