Your First Appointment

What to Expect at Your First Pediatrician Visit

We’re excited to welcome your family! Whether you’re a new parent or new to Norton Children’s Medical Group, your child’s first visit is an important step in building a lifelong care partnership.

Here’s how to get ready:

What to Bring

Your child’s immunization records and any past medical history

A list of current medications, if any

Insurance card and photo ID

Parent or guardian photo ID

Any forms that need to be filled out that are required by your child care provider or school

Any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss

If you would like to transfer your child’s medical records and/or immunization records from a previous medical office, you may give that office your Norton Children’s Medical Group fax number or mailing address. You also can request to share or transfer medical records through your child’s Norton MyChart account if the previous practice used MyChart. Look for an option called “Share My Record” or “Request Medical Records.”

What We’ll Cover

A full physical exam and developmental check

Review of your child’s health history and milestones

Recommended vaccinations

Time for you to ask questions about feeding, sleep, growth, mental health and more
