As Norton Children’s plans a new pediatric care campus, including a second dedicated children’s hospital, the health system has launched a community survey to ensure that local voices are at the heart of the vision.

Available now at NortonChildrens.com/New-Campus, the brief survey invites parents, caregivers, educators and community members to share what matters most to them when it comes to children’s health and wellness. Responses will directly influence how the campus takes shape, ranging from the services to the family spaces.

“This is more than a campus; it’s a village of healing,” said Russell F. Cox, president and CEO, Norton Healthcare, the not-for-profit parent organization of Norton Children’s. “Our vision is to build a destination for pediatric care unlike anything Kentucky or the region has seen, but we need community input.”

The new campus, to be located on more than 150 acres in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, will include surgical suites, emergency care, integrated behavioral health services, research facilities and more.

In addition to the online survey, Norton Children’s will host a series of in-person “Follow the Balloon” community listening sessions. The first takes place Tuesday, July 29, 2025, 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Tully Elementary School in Jeffersontown. Attendees will hear campus updates, ask questions and share ideas to help shape the future of pediatric care.

“Be part of building something historic, and let’s imagine together,” Cox said. “Every child deserves a space of healing, hope and heart that’s ‘Just for Kids.’”
