When Anthony Manni won the technology package in the September early prize drawing as part of the 2019 Norton Children’s Hospital Home & BMW Raffle, it seemed meant to be.
Anthony — who won an Apple iPad and a Microsoft Surface Pro — is an instructor of computer information systems at the University of Louisville College of Business.
“I was absolutely surprised when they called,” he said.
According to Anthony, he’s always enjoyed technology and worked in information technology for UPS before he retired and began teaching. Both devices are very cool, according to Anthony, and he has especially enjoyed the Microsoft Surface Pro. He opted to share his winnings and gave the iPad to his daughter.
“She loves it,” he said.
Anthony and his wife attend St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Prospect on the edge of Norton Commons, where the raffle homes have been constructed each year since 2011. Anthony and his wife have watched the area develop and enjoy talking about what they might do with the home if they win the grand prize this year.
“The prizes are nice, and everyone likes to win — but the basis of the cause, Norton Children’s Hospital Foundation, is worthwhile and excellent, so let’s support it,” he said.
