About Norton Children’s Medical Center

Norton Children’s Medical Center is a unique regional facility, designed “Just for Kids,” that brings the compassionate, skilled pediatric care of Norton Children’s Hospital to residents of northeastern Jefferson County, Kentucky, and the surrounding area. Norton Children’s Medical Center is about 10 minutes from Southern Indiana and the Interstate 265 Lewis and Clark Bridge. The medical center features:

• A 24/7 pediatric emergency department
• Outpatient surgical services
• Diagnostic testing
  • Full-service testing capabilities, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, fluoroscopy and X-rays
  • Pediatric sedation services available
• Child life therapy
  • A team works with children and their families to reduce fear and anxiety about unfamiliar surroundings or procedures.

Laboratory Services, Diagnostic Testing and Imaging

Laboratory and X-ray Hours
Walk-ins: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
All bloodwork (labs) and X-rays are performed on a walk-in basis, except glucose (blood sugar) testing. To schedule a glucose test, call (502) 629-5437 (KIDS), option 3.

After-hours testing is available in the emergency department, located on the Chamberlain Lane side of the building to the right of the main doors.

Other Diagnostic Testing and Imaging
All other diagnostic testing and imaging requires an appointment. To schedule an appointment, call (502) 629-5437 (KIDS), option 3.

Important Information for All Visitors

• All visitors must be 12 or older, unless a special exception is granted.
• Anyone who is ill is asked to not visit or accompany patients.
• If a visitor displays unsafe, threatening or aggressive behavior, or impedes care, intentionally or not, appropriate measures will be taken to protect our patients and staff.
