Philosophy of Care

Josh Meier, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in pediatric orthopedics. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, then completed a general orthopedic surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich. Dr. Meier completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery and scoliosis at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.

In addition to offering a full range of orthopedic services for children, Dr. Meier has special interests in scoliosis, trauma and limb deformities. His mission is to provide top-quality care for a wide range of children’s orthopedic conditions, from simple to complex. Dr. Meier’s treatment approach includes keeping the medical environment as kid-friendly as possible. He also strongly believes in involving family members in their child’s care.

Dr. Meier is on staff at Norton Children’s Hospital and has a clinical faculty appointment with the University of Louisville School of Medicine Department of Orthopedic Surgery. He also serves as a staff physician for the Kentucky Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs.

Away from the office Dr. Meier enjoys playing golf and softball as well as spending time with his family. Dr. Meier also enjoys traveling for mission work, providing pediatric orthopedic care for international charities such as Healing the Children. His travels have taken him to Colombia, Ecuador and, most recently, Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.
