When do you really need to change your child’s car seat?
Any good mom or dad wants to keep their child safe, but many parents are unintentionally putting them in danger.
A study from Safe Kids Worldwide shows 90 percent of parents move a child from a booster seat to a seat belt too soon. Motor vehicle crashes are the second-leading cause of death for children ages 4 to 10, many of which could have been prevented if the proper restraints were used.
Child Passenger Safety Week is Sept. 18-24. If you’d like to make sure your child’s car/booster seat is installed correctly, here’s a statewide map of safety check locations.
