Safe Kids Worldwide is a global organization dedicated to preventing accidental injuries to children- the number one killer of children in the United States. Around the world, a child dies from one of these injuries every 30 seconds and millions more are injured in ways that can affect them for a lifetime.
Safe Kids Louisville, led by Norton Children’s Hospital, is celebrating its 25th year as one of more than 600 coalitions working to reduce the number of deaths and injuries from motor vehicle crashes, sports, falls, drowning and more. Since 1988 when Safe Kids was founded, there has been a 55 percent decrease in the accidental injury rate of children 19 years of age and younger.
