Making a house a home

Nov. 19, 2016, turned out to be just a little more exciting than their typical Saturday evening for Denise Debski and her family. Denise and her husband have been supporting the Children’s Hospital Foundation by buying a Home & BMW Raffle ticket for the past 11 years. And 2016 turned out to be their lucky year!

Denise recalled the experience of hearing her name called as the winner as “shocking, life-altering and overwhelming.”

Norton Children’s Hospital Home & BMW Raffle

Get your raffle ticket in one of four convenient ways:

  • Call (502) 559-KIDS
  • Visit the Norton Commons Sales Center or BMW of Louisville
  • Attend an open house on Saturdays and Sundays, Sept. 30 through Nov. 12, 2017, noon to 6 p.m., or Saturday, Nov. 18, noon to 3 p.m.

Since winning a new home, the Debskis have moved into their new house and joined the Norton Commons community. Their favorite part of the neighborhood has been the pool and the kids in the neighborhood. Norton Commons has two pools and over seven parks. While the neighborhood was motivation enough to move, the home built by Ramage Company and designed by Leslie Cotter was perfect for the Debskis and their 8-year-old daughter, Ruthie.

Denise’s favorite spot in the house is the front porch, while Ruthie prefers her bedroom reading nook.

The family has purchased a raffle ticket again this year. Proceeds benefit Norton Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), dedicated to caring for premature infants and babies born with conditions requiring advanced care or surgery.

“So many families and this community are lucky to have a NICU like Norton Children’s so close,” Denise said.
